Severiano Ballesteros knows a thing or two about golf courses
after a glittering career, so who better to design a course on the north
west tip of Tenerife. So when the master set about creating Buenavista
Club de Golf in 2003 he had a wonderful canvas to work with.
The lush green plant life of the north combined with the
rugged landscape and the Teno mountains has produced a course that makes
the most of nature to test the golfer. There are 6 holes of par 3, 4
and 5 level and with plenty of trees and bunkers so you will need to
be on top of your game.
Buenavista Club are very aware of their relationship with
the environment and make sure they look after the plants and animals
that make the course so special, perhaps that’s why they won the
2006 Madera Verde award for being a responsible environmental business.
Beyond the greens, there is a putting green and a driving
range and the Seve Ballesteros golf school with classes from 4 hours
for starters to 10 hours for advanced lessons.
Prices at Buenavista range from 54 euros for 18 holes
in the summer low season and the course has a full range of club and
buggy hire to help you on your way.
One of the pleasures of playing golf in Tenerife is relaxing
after the game and enjoying the facillities. Buenavista has a restaurant
with a great reputation that is perched on the edge of the cliffs overlooking
the Atlantic, what a way to finish a great day out.
