Have you ever returned from
holiday and felt unsettled for weeks afterwards? In the middle of a
business meeting, you might be trying very hard to concentrate but instead
of facts and figures marching through your head, you have visions of
enjoying a cool sundowner on the patio of your very own place in the sun.
For many people, life goes
back to normal before the last of their suntan has faded. Others just can't
shake the holiday home dream and after months of research to find the
right location, the best estate agent and the perfect apartment they put
down that first payment and their dream becomes reality.
For some, the dream remains but they are unwilling to
commit to such a large chunk of change that owning a holiday apartment or
villa is going to require. For them, an attractive and affordable
alternative is buying a mobile home.
If you haven't seen today's mobile homes you might think,
as I did, of childhood holidays in coastal campsites round Britain. Modern
mobiles, though they are strictly speaking, caravans are as far removed from
those draughty, musty, creaky caravans of old as a bean is from a bicycle.
Visiting the campsite at Las Galletas, which hosts a
mobile home park, I was shown round by William Kay, a director of Mobile Homes
Abroad Limited. MHA Ltd., has mobile homes for sale and rent in Tenerife,
France and other Spanish locations.
We had a chat inside one of the mobile homes which was serving as
a home base to William and his wife Susan. The mobile homes come fully
furbished and the interiors are surprisingly roomy, thanks in large part to
clever design and disguise techniques. The fridge and freezer for example
are wood-cladded, co-ordinating with the rest of the furniture
The mobile homes are sold complete - all you need to move
in are your linens and tableware. They are each placed on their own plot
which is sizable enough to house a table and chairs and a Barbeque with
plenty of room left over for the kids to play. The pretty plot of William and
Sue's mobile home had been landscaped 18 months before so was mature enough
to provide a private little oasis right outside their door.
The campsite in Tenerife offers a large swimming pool, a
tennis court and an on-site bar and restaurant. While these amenities are
appreciated by the mobile owners who live full time on the site, those who have bought their mobile home to
let to tourists have the benefit of knowing that the recreational facilities
on-site will make their mobile home an easy sell to holiday makers.
All in all, buying a mobile home as your home in the sun
seems like a very attractive option. Visit the
