“
In just over a year’s time Los Cristianos town centre will
have a completely new look which should reinforce its position
as an attractive
modern tourist resort, which will accommodate all kinds of visitors.”
Mayor of Arona
The ongoing investment by the local council and government into Los
Cristianos will mean, in this area of Tenerife, property sales can do
nothing but benefit from the investment.
Arona Council has a ‘Touristic Excellence Plan’ which
includes:-
• General Franco Street, Los Cristianos
This work is nearing completion, with only the finer details such as
the new benches, the garden areas and waste paper bins etc awaiting
location once the new road surface has been laid.
• Calle Juan XXIII, Los Cristianos
Work is going well and soon the pedestrian street running parallel to
the Avenida de Suecia and the smaller streets running down to the beach
area and the future promenade will present a new modern aspect in keeping
with the other projects.
The work is being carried out by the company Dragados SA who has been
allocated a budget of 2,689,000 euros and is expected to have the work
completed in fifteen months time.
Homebuyers will reap the rewards
For potential homebuyers in Tenerife, property sales in Los Cristianos
look a great investment as the new look resort will attract many
visitors, ideal if you are letting your property. Or, alternatively
if you’re
looking for a permanent residence then Los Cristianos will have
everything you need.
In addition, it is also reported that in Los Cristianos work will begin
on a new health centre, close to the Dinastia Complex and the new development
of Los Corales.
Tenerife is a winter sun destination for many ‘Swallows’ {sic}
those who reside in the Canary Island for the duration of the British
winter. Through the continual investment that the Arona Town Hall are
making, Los Cristianos as a resort is becoming even more of a ‘home
from home’ but, with higher winter temperatures.
Latest News - No tax on empty homes
The Canarian government has just ruled against the possibility of imposing
a tax on owners of properties which lie empty.
Concening this measure which is being considered by
the Spanish mainland -Basque Country and Catalonia, as they wish to
encourage
owners
to
release their
properties for rental a Treasury Spokesman had this to say. “It’s
not deemed necessary in the Canary Islands,” .
“The figure quoted in the media of 125,000 empty
properties is highly exaggerated and we think the figure
is nearer 25,000' the
government
feels that the existing tax incentives to buy second
homes for rental income are sufficient and no punitive measures are
required.”
